Restaurant

Our cooking is based on traditional home made Catalan food. We could define it as grandma’s cooking, Cecilia being the original founder of the restaurant, and today still supervises the quality as well as teaches everybody who enters the kitchen.

OUR SPECIALITIES ARE

“Escudella i carn d’olla”: traditional Catalan country soup made exactly as it was done years ago. “Escudella” with pasta and “carn d’olla” with meat balls, back bones, shoulder, ears, snout, chicken, cabbage, chick peas, etc…

Beef and wild mushroom stew: using beef from the area as well as the best picked wild mushrooms cooked as it had always been done.

Pigs’ trotters: different recipes according to season.

Casserole of rice: keeping to the same traditional recipe used by our grandmothers.

A good selection of salads with traditional products of the area, such as cold meats and cheeses…

Grilling: any kind of meat grilled with good side grilled vegetables dishes and other products.

DESSERTS

We have a good selection of desserts, starting with the traditional home made “Crema Catalana” (custard with caramelised toping), cream of lemon, traditional cream caramel made with egg, soft goat cheese with honey, ewe yoghurt…

Wine production in the Pyrenees, Castellar de n'Hug, vineyards at altitude

CASTELLAR DE N'HUG VINEYARDS:
We are starting our wine production in Castellar de n'Hug, as a new concern and working to boost the production of high altitude wines (one of the consequences that climate change is having on viticulture is the displacement of growing areas towards higher altitudes) and energize the Pyrenees. To adapt to new times we are undertaking this initiative, and we already have our first productions, with our first wine already bottled. With the hope of expanding it in the future, or being able to give it the form of wine tourism and, above all, of giving added value to Castellar de n'Hug.
